How we started
The Ngobeni Foundation was originally founded as the Ngobeni Student Assistance Program (N-SAP) in 2004 by Pastor Lebohang Ngobeni. The primary goal was to guide high school learners in rural areas as they navigated their future beyond matric. What started as a series of motivational talks and career guidance sessions has since grown into a comprehensive support network that now includes annual programs for senior citizens, blanket drives, school shoe donations, and more. The foundation’s evolution from a focused student initiative to a fully-fledged community empowerment organization is a testament to its commitment to continuous growth and service.
Leadership and People
The Ngobeni Foundation was established by Pastor Lebohang Ngobeni, who continues to lead the organization with passion and dedication. Pastor Ngobeni, a devoted father of five and husband to Mrs. Thobile Ngobeni, balances his full-time career at Vodacom South Africa with his commitment to community work. His leadership is supported by members of his congregation at the Ethiopian Catholic Church in Zion and close friends who share his vision for community upliftment. Together, they work tirelessly to ensure that the foundation's initiatives reach those in need.
